When I first heard about GoTrip WW, I didn’t really know what to expect. Georgia and Armenia are both super beautiful places to visit, but getting around is not always simple. Trains don’t go everywhere, some buses are too packed, and honestly, after a long flight I never feel like arguing with taxi drivers over prices.
That’s where GoTrip kinda saved the day for me.
How It All Started
GoTrip started back in 2016 in Georgia. At first it was just a small idea — connecting travelers with local drivers who were already checked and trusted. Over time, the idea just grew by people talking about it. I actually liked that they didn’t depend on big investors; they just kept growing step by step until now they’re one of the main travel options people use when exploring the Caucasus.
My Booking & Ride
Booking is honestly simple. You go online, type your route, see list of drivers, their reviews, what car they drive, and the price shows right away — no surprise “tourist” cost.
My driver came on time, car was clean, AC worked fine, and he was friendly but not too talkative (which I kinda like). When I asked about the best places to stop, he told me a few nice spots — one bakery on the way had warm fresh bread that was sooo good. It didn’t feel like a paid tour, more like a local friend giving me a lift with extra tips.
What’s Good & What’s Not
It’s not perfect, of course. Some people say if you make too many extra stops without asking first, the price can change, so it’s better to agree everything before starting. Also, not every driver speaks good English, so sometimes you just use signs or Google Translate — it works fine though.
The website works okay, but sometimes they confirm things through WhatsApp, which feels a bit less professional, but I didn’t mind much. For me it worked fine overall.
Deals, Discounts & Coupons 2025
- Pages like Namobot sometimes share 10–15% off codes. They don’t always work, but it’s worth a quick try before you confirm your ride.
- Some drivers add little extras like free waiting time, extra photo stops, or even a small water bottle — not a huge deal, but nice touch on a long trip.
- If you’re booking for more than one person, try asking for a group price. A few drivers are cool about giving a small discount.
- And yeah, if you book on weekdays instead of weekends, prices can be a bit lower because it’s usually less busy.
- Small things like that can actually save you a bit over multiple rides, especially if you’re traveling around for a few days.
Tips From My Side
- Decide your route and stops before you start, so there’s no confusion.
- Pick a driver with good reviews and maybe a newer car (photos help).
- Keep confirmation screenshots, especially if chatting on WhatsApp.
- Bring cash just in case — some drivers prefer it even when it says card payment.
- And yeah, don’t forget snacks for long rides, some roads between towns are really long with few places to stop.
